Which faction do you support and why? Gallente because FREEEDOM
And why does supporting a faction matter for CPM? It shows that you are passionate about a game. Being good is one thing but having true passion is what I think would make a good cpm. A passionate person would want to try all things, try all roles, all maps, and all map modes. They should know a bit of the lore too so things can make sense in the eve universe.
Why do you believe CCP has created Legion for PC play rather then the very similar to code for PS4 as was there intended purpose.
I think legion was created as attempt #2 to make a successful fps shooter. I don't think they are ashamed of dust, I think they are proud of what we have and our community but they know the truth of the situation. Dust came out really late in the ps3 life cycle. To create and support an ongoing mmofps this late was a mistake. If Dust had came out years earlier and even if all the same mistakes were made... we would probably still have a much larger population.
legion was canceled due to the backlash of the community. Making legion for Ps4 was their intended purpose? I never heard any such promise. They would just dodge that question by saying they would look into it and that it was too early to really know for sure what would be possible. As to why they chose pc primarly over ps4... I think that can be accounted into multiple reasons. In all honesty. I think the entire experience with dust on ps3 was both rewarding and disappointing. The community can be so toxic that unless you are Ratatti you probably have to have a thick skin as a developer to visit these forums.
How would you bring about meaningful additions to Dust after core mechanics are in a better position? These are the trick questions that can shoot me in the foot later. Will my time as cpm matter? Will CCP listen? Who knows. I think the answer you should be asking is will I try? Yes I will try my damnest to make dust as fun as it can be for however long as it lasts. Hopefully for a long time too.
How do you feel about core mechanics? They are often ignored in favor for shiny things.
What are core mechanics? I am a strategical player. I believe there is a difference between running around randomly and shooting and really strategizing your game play. The diversity in dust's suits, roles, weapons, fittings, really enhances this and it all becomes core. My definition of Core Mechanics would be... Anything that applies to the core of the game itself which is the gameplay. The fun is on the battlefield and if we want to enhance that fun, we need to focus on the battlefield.
- are weapons and suits balanced?
- Are maps well made for a competitive match or can they be exploited to give one team an edge?
- are there enough players being loaded into matches. Matchmaking.
When the game stops being fun, people leave. People were not leaving in the past because of lack of trading or lack of item crafting. The truth is that alot of changes and additions to dNPE has always been terrible and what have we gotten but a couple of tweaks to the academy that probably took less than 10 minutes to do. I believe an extraordinary amount of time has been put into features that are outside of the core gameplay. We have all this stuff and it is great but now it is time to address the problems that have existed from the start.
What do you like about tacos? I am eating a fajita taco right now.
What's your favorite anime? One Piece
Do you believe Heavies position is solely point defense? Nah. Heavies should be free to do more for their team. In any other role I can diversify my play style. I could be offensive or defensive. hack suits, ect. Whatever my objective or style I want it to be and I believe heavies should be able to do the same. They can do point defense but I have seen heavies make heavy use of vehicles to become mobile battle initiators. If they have a logi duo they can be unstoppable. If you are in a group and the enemy team focuses on the tankiest guy on the team then they are bad and that makes you a meat shield. Heavies have their advantages and people shouldnt be afraid to exploit them. None of what I said is breaking the meta.
do you believe the changes CCP implemented in PC will have any impact on corps actually participating in PC? Nah not really. Many of those who participated in the past are still participating. some new people may start. They may suck for a while or they may be good but I wouldnt say it changed much.
Do you believe a separate PC store will entice players to PC? Yes I believe there should be a seperate pc store. Player motivation is a big thing. This community is so demotivated that they need the extra reward.
Do you enjoy wasting your time answering questions? yes i do.
Life is like a box of Proto Locust grenades. You never know what random red berry you're gonna get.
